And Lady Luck Bestows Her Light On Me

I was at Tangs a couple of days ago getting some stuff so I handed my credit card over the cashier. She swiped my card, keyed in my purchase total and handed me to credit receipt for me to sign it. As I handed her the signed credit receipt, she flips my credit card over and says, "er, escue me, you neber sign on your card. Cannot do the credit card if neber sign."

At this point, I'm wondering, "Do the credit card? Why would anyone want to do a credit card? talk about the sexually repressed."

So I go, "Ok I'll sign it then."

She hands me my card and I sign it. The funny thing is that she picks up my card and my credit receipt, compares the two signatures and hands me my card, receipt and bag and says, "Thank you for shopping for Tangs."

Whew I got lucky, the two signatures actually matched! Otherwise who knows what might have happened! I might not have been able to buy my stuff or worse still, I might get drag down to the police station for credit card fraud. Talk about being lucky!

  1. I have been using my credit cards for as long as 2 years before someone at an outlet pointed out that I needed to have my signature on the back of my credit cards for verifications during transactions. Every since then, I've been paying attention to every transactions, observing if the cashiers do a signature verification, seems like barely only 1 out of 100 of them would check.
