More Soups

Ok I've officially finished my chicken soup so its time for the next round of soups to be made. Have I mentioned I absolutely lurve soups? Full bodied ones which are brimming with ingredients of course. So this time round I figured I'd make a cream based soup, except this time it doesn't come from a can. I've decided to make myself a fish, mushroom and potato soup. Sounds weird but tastes heavenly. The thing about homemade soups is that you get to use as much ingredients as you want. I dumped in an entire packet of white buttom mushrooms, a whole fillet of fish and 2 whole potatoes. Yes, I'm too lazy to get the fish in its entirety so the fillet will have to do. Ok so in case you'er wondering how I pulled this cream soup off (because cream soups are quite hard to make), here's what I used:
Fish soup stock powder (flown in all the way from my dad's friend in Norway, its fantastic, although trying to make out the instructions which were in Norwegian was quite a task...)
Full Cream (this is what is going to make me faaaattttt....)
White Button Mushrooms (you fry the mushrooms and fish for a while with butter.)
Fish
Potatoes
Chicken stock

See its simple! And the best part about making soups is that you don't have to contend with spurting oil and too much cleaning up. Everything basically goes into one pot with the occassional dumping in of ingredients and stirring. Top it off with some bread and you have a absolutely fantastic meal. And in case you think this is going to be a food blog, not to worry, its not. I could probably cook for myself for a week, but anything more than that would probably try my patience a little.
