We won free tickets to 28 weeks later and yesterday we finally managed to drag ourselves out of the office to put those free tickets to use. Since they were free, we didn't bother finding out about the show... BIG MISTAKE. Have I mentioned that I am chicken-shit? I can't even watch Nightmare on Elm Street without having problems sleeping.
So anyway, there we were, all comfy in our seats, expecting a show about Ebola viruses or something, when zombies started appearing on the screen, chewing arm after arm, sucking blood off screaming women, turning other humans into zombies... you get the drift. 10 minutes into the show and I was downright freaked! We decided that the show was far too scary for me and we got out of our seats and left.
As we were leaving the theatre, A suggested we go watch another show instead. I, being the more kiasee one, immediately asked if that was even legal. A pointed out that we did have tickets. albeit free ones which stated $0 on them, but tickets nonetheless. We decided to check out other cinemas to see if we could still catch a show.
Okay, so we headed to the cinema next door and it sounded all too familiar. Scary music. Check. Screaming women. Check. Sounds of growling zombies. Check. Damn it, it's the same freakin' show! What luck. We turned and left.
We tried another cinema only to find it lit and empty. Damn. No show.
Ok, one last try we thought. If we kept going in and out of cinemas, we were bound to get raise suspicion. One last try. As we stepped in, it was music to our ears... they were still playing advertisements! We found ourselves seats in the front and plonked out asses down. Now, the only question was what were they playing? We decided if it turned out to be another horror movie, we were going to leave.
So the movie starts. Music starts off creepy. Scenes are fluttering by and we can't quite figure out what show it is. Its starting to have the makings of another horror flick. Great, just great. All seemed lost when suddenly I spotted "Nicholas Cage". Whoopee! Its "Next". (Being the more pop culture savvy one, I knew immediately.) Whew.
So we managed to catch Next which turned out less horrific than 28 Weeks Later but wasn't something I would have paid to watch. Oh yes, the tickets were free to begin with.
